Electricity bills

Hi
I was just wondering how people are finding the electricity costs since the recent price increases (and of course more to come).

Over the years we've had many discussions on the forum about inconsistent bills and high costs. I understood before that the lodges have the same supplier as the village and so we'll be hit in the same way by the recent rise.

Has anyone been shocked or even had a pleasant surprise? I'd like to forewarn my friends to set aside much more money for the bill this time!

Just returned from a week in a highland lodge - only 2 people.

No heating used and never cooked. Hotel food and staff, I thought were excellent so used it every night.

Was £12.65 for week which was unexpected.

Like Stuart, we had a pleasant surprise at the end of a mixed weather week at Rannoch when it came to paying our electricity, £29.00. We used the Conservatory when in the lodge heating it up in the evening whilst enjoying the stunning view. We ate at the Hotel every second night, and on the occasions we did cook, hand washed the dishes to cut down on electricity. It can be done in the summer but would hate to think of the cost of hearing the full Lodge in the winter.

We were there for the whole of last week in a 3 bedroom highland lodge. 4-6 people most of the week.

Made lunch probably 4/7days and dinner 6/7days. TV was on in the morning and evening and dishwasher used everyday. We also had the heating on in one of the bedrooms (my little one doesn't sleep if it's too cold) and unknowingly had the underfloor heating on in both the en-suite and bathroom. Showers/baths most days as the pool showers are hopeless!

We were just shy of £48.37 for the week which I didn't think was actually that bad given the current prices.
