The Game Fair area, kindly sponsored by CKD Galbraith, has numerous activities going on throughout the day, often including demonstrations of falconry, ferret racing, gun dogs, angling and much more. The Dog Show (entries taken on the day) is also held here.
As well as hosting showing classes, the Main Ring is the place to see the Champion of Champions crowned, a parade of vintage and classic vehicles, the Young Farmers Tug O’ War and the amusing antics of the Quack Commandos collies and ducks.
The Kids Countryside Tent has informative stands alongside fun activities for all the family, with local environmental organisations invited to take part. Birds, bees, reptiles, bugs and bats – they’re all usually here. Please be aware that this tent has changed location and can now be found near the Game Fair area, so don’t miss out on a visit! The Pet Show (entries taken on Show day) no longer takes place in this tent, but is still in its usual spot, in the second show field near the main public entrance, with classes for rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and any other pet you’d like to bring along!
The Home Produce Tent showcases the best of baking, home produce and crafts from exhibitors both local and from further afield, with competition classes for adults and juniors. In 2019, this tent will also host the Scottish Women’s Institute who will be demonstrating some of their many skills throughout the day, and where you can see the entries from their Annual Show.
The Craft Tent includes wares from crafters from Fife and beyond – a fantastic shopping opportunity. Another section of the same marquee has members from Made in Fife, with more beautiful home-made pieces available to purchase.
